Unaka Forest Products, Inc. is family owned and operated. We are out to please our customers as a pallet manufacturer with quality service and a competitive price for your pallet requirements.

Being in business for more than 40 years, we feel we are more than capable of handling your pallet requirements. Our pallets are unique in the fact that we saw our own lumber from small logs that are usually sold to paper manufacturing companies. Our competitors depend on sawmills to meet their lumber needs, thus creating a middleman and increasing prices, a price we can avoid.

After the sawmills take out the entire grade, then their scrap boards are sold for pallet manufacturing. Our small pulp-type logs that we saw are turned into 100% pallet lumber, which in turn creates a better, stronger pallet.

When it comes to the production of the pallet, we originally operated two smaller machines but have upgraded to a larger computerized “Viking TurboMax 505” nailing machine. This machine has increased our production.

Therefore, we now nail together over 10,000 pallets per week. We do not outsource any part of the pallet production; all work, including sawing the lumber, is done in house. This makes us unbeatable in quality.

Due to the regulations on export pallets/lumber from the IPPC, we are also capable of heat treating pallets to conform to their regulations. In order to do this accurately and efficiently, we have sent two of our company representatives to learn this trade.

Over the last few years, we have grown substantially and have added two more locations. One is in Hampton, TN and the other in Duffield, VA.

We have also replaced all our manufacturing equipment with computerized equipment. This enables us to produce a tremendous amount of various sizes of lumber, which in turn passes the cost savings onto the customer by not charging them for more pallets than what they require.

With these new additions, we are eager to take on more pallet business with even more completive pricing. Additionally, we are utilizing cutting-edge biomass solutions that have allowed us to support the growth of America’s biofuel suppliers.
